Annual Institute for Staff Development
The 2006 Institute for Staff Development takes place July 20-22, at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center in Detroit, MI. The Institute features several days of intensive peer training, industry presentations, and networking opportunities for Academy Directors, teachers, support staff, Advisory Board members, administrators, guidance counselors and business partners. NEW! NAF adds Riverboat Cruise to Institute Agenda!Join the National Academy Foundation and your Academy colleagues on a spectacular, riverboat cruise on board the luxurious Detroit Princess up the Detroit River to St. Clair, and back along the Canadian Coast to Detroit on Wednesday, July 19th from 6:00-9:30pm. Please feel free to bring family and friends. Space is limited so we are enforcing a ?first come, first serve? policy. The normal cost of this event is approximately $61, but NAF has absorbed some of the costs to allow attendees who register early to enjoy this wonderful cruise at a discounted rate of $35 per person. Tickets purchased on-site will be $40 per person. A buffet dinner will be served (including iced tea and coffee) and an inexpensive cash bar will be open all evening. You must bring picture ID to board the riverboat. (This is a non-negotiable requirement set by the Coast Guard.) General Registration for the Institute is Open! General Registration remains open for those people who wish to attend the Institute but will not be pre-registered by an Academy Director. Registration is $500/person before June 27, 2006. After that date, unregistered attendees must register onsite at a cost of $600/person.CLICK HERE to go through the general registration process. Pre-Registration for the Institute is Open! Academy Directors may pre-register their teams for the upcoming Institute. Log in to http://www.naf.org/ and follow the registration link to pre-register team members, including teachers, principles, and advisory board members. Registration is $500/person before June 27, 2006. After that date, unregistered attendees must register onsite at a cost of $600/person. NEW! All NAF Conferences Require Payment in Full PRIOR to the Date of the Conference! Payment in the form of a check, money order, or by credit card must be received by the first day of the conference or attendees will not be able to pick up their registration materials or receive sponsorship. Checks may be mailed to Expo Exchange (The NAF Institute for Staff Development, PO Box 488, Frederick, MD 21705-4088), to NAF (National Academy Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 1640, New York, NY 10006), or may be brought on site to the conference. Purchase orders may be used for registration but it is incumbent on each attendee to ensure that the payment is processed and received by NAF in good time prior to the conference. Hotel Reservations Are Open! Conference attendees may book hotel reservations for the Institute at our host hotel, the beautiful Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.
