Year of Planning
The Year of Planning (YOP) component of the National Academy Foundation (NAF) enables a school interested in starting a NAF Academy to engage in the start-up process with assistance from NAF, prior to enrolling students. Schools applying for this designation agree to participate in a yearlong Self Assessment and Planning process aimed at developing an implementation plan for their NAF Academy.
Once accepted as a YOP site, the school is entitled to NAF technical assistance, staff development activities, use of Academy curriculum, and other benefits associated with NAF-network membership. After successful completion of the YOP process, the school's Academy is a bona fide implementation site, fully prepared to launch and operate the NAF Academy model successfully.
