Recommended Course Sequencing
Each course covers one semester. A single asterisk (*) indicates a course that was not created by NAF, but may usually be found within a high school's existing curriculum. A double asterisk (**) denotes courses that may be offered by a local college or university.
Option I: Academy of Information Technology: Four-Year Program
Ninth Grade
- Strategies for Success
- Computer Applications
Tenth Grade
- Introduction to Information Technology
- Introduction to the Internet
- Logic for Programming
Eleventh Grade
- Digital Networks
- System Support & Maintenance
- Programming (C++ and Java)
- Digital Media
Twelfth Grade
- Advanced Web Tools
- Databases
- College level IT course
Option II: Academy of Information Technology: Integrated Pathway Model (4 year)*

While this option is valid for many Academies, NAF strongly recommends providing students with exposure to a range of career paths (Option I). We request that any Academy considering this model please consult with NAF before making its final course sequencing decision.
