I'm excited about this opportunity.  As I pursue a career in the hospitality and tourism industry, this scholarship will help me to get the education I need."

Cynthia M. on winning the 2007 Internship Stories Scholarship.  Cynthia graduates from the School of Business and Management at Townview this month, and plans to pursue two Bachelor's degrees in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management and International Business at New Mexico State University this fall.

"Being part of the Academy of Finance for me was not just an ordinary organization, it was more than that.  A family was formed under those three years.  Not all the tasks that were given to us were easy.  But with our AOF adviser, Ms. Matlea Parker's inspiring words and guidance, she made it a lot easier for us to cope up with our work.  Students in high school normally don't care of how our economy works yet. But with the Academy of Finance, it helped me understand of how it works at such an early age. This organization also gave AoF students the opportunity to get internship to companies to get more hands-on experience while still in high school.  Being part of the Academy of Finance changed my life; it advanced my knowledge about finance, economy issues, as well as filling out tax forms.  This organization is one of a kind, and I am glad I was part of it throughout my high school career."

The Academy of Hospitality & Tourism was an experience of a lifetime.  I had a great internship at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and met guests and staff from all over the world.  I was very lucky to learn and experience the Academy.  If I could do it again, I would in a heartbeat.
