Overview
NAF provides curriculum for all its Academy themes: Finance, Hospitality & Tourism, and Information Technology. This curriculum has been developed in collaboration with partners representing industry, associations, higher education, and the NAF network.
For each theme, NAF provides a set of courses, further divided into units that are comprised of projects and lessons. Each course is typically designed to comprise one semester. In a traditional sense, the Academy courses are considered "electives" for a school or a district. Academy instruction and student learning are most effective, however, when the Academy teachers work together with academic subject teachers, in an interdisciplinary approach.
NAF provides an outline of objectives for each of the courses; these objectives have been reviewed and validated by our various partners. Instructors are free to use the NAF lessons or integrate their own material, as long as they cover the course objectives.
Curriculum is available to NAF-affiliated Academies through the NAF website and is password-protected.
Questions regarding the curriculum, or requests to see samples, should be e-mailed to the NAF Curriculum Manager.
